Marius Kohler, notaire in Hamburg (Germany), took office as President of the Council of Notaries of the European Union on 19 January 2018.
The Vice-Presidency is held by Pierre-Luc Vogel, notaire in Saint-Malo, who was President of the CSN in 2014-2016. The Council of Notariats of the European Union (CNUE) is the European federation of national notarial bodies of the member countries of the European Union.
In 2018, the CNUE President wants to position the European notariat as a reference point in company law. A European legislative package on this theme is also expected for the coming weeks; it should contain various proposals, notably concerning the dematerialization of procedures.
In addition, 2018 will also be dedicated to the training of notaires throughout Europe on the new European regulations on matrimonial property regimes and registered partnerships, which will enter into force in 17 EU Member States from 29 January 2019.
